Prayers of SVD

May the darkness of sin
and the night of unbelief vanish before the light of the Word
and the Spirit of grace
and may the Heart of Jesus live
in the hearts of all people.

21 February 2024

To the South

After the first semester of lectures at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Warsaw in Olsztyn, we went on a journey through Poland. At the beginning of February, we went first to Chludowo, where there is SVD novitiate. We spent one day there to walk in the park, pray and talk to old friends.

On 9th of February, we went to our mission house in Nysa where we prayed for our SVD Father, a missionary of Africa, Joachim Zok. We attended the funeral Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, and then we went with a procession to the cemetery.

On Sunday, together with seminarians Daniel and Andrey, we went to Slovakia to comfort the family after their deceased relative. Andrey's aunt had eight children and died at the age of 53. Together with his family, we prayed in the parish church and later visited Andrey's parents.

The next day we were in the Beskidy, where we spent two days with the Orionine Sisters in Międzybrodzie Bialskie. We had time to climb the Beskidy Mountains. By the way, we stopped by for coffee with my parents. With the Orionine Sisters, we had common Eucharist and matins every day. By Ash Wednesday we were back at our Mission Seminary in Pieniężno.
